在澳大利亚，合格的精算师人数2972（截至2018年11月）。一个新获得资格的研究员预计年收入约为125000美元，收入增长迅速。高级精算师一年的收入很容易超过30万美元。由于澳大利亚精算师获得了全球认可，并且该行业越来越注重数据和创新，毕业生的职业生涯是全球性的，经得起未来的考验。
精算师都做什么
保险、养老金、财富管理、投资、健康融资和银行业是精算师工作的更容易被认可的领域，但他们也在数据分析、能源和环境等新的高增长领域工作。许多精算师还担任金融机构运营管理的行政职务。无论精算职业看起来如何，数据分析和管理、风险管理和基于数据的决策技能在许多行业都至关重要。
成为澳大利亚注册精算师需要完成三个阶段的学习：
- Foundation Program：第一阶段需要完成精算统计、精算数学和商业金融和经济这三个模块（六个方向）的学习，都在大学完成。
- Actuary Program：第二阶段需要完成四个方向的学习（其中两个在大学完成，另两个是精算师协会线上课程），完成后成为助理精算师。
- Fellowship Program：第三阶段的深度学习使学生可以成为该领域的专家和领导者。需要完成精算师协会三个模块的线上学习和考试，以及一年的监督工作经验，最终成为注册精算师。

澳国立大学不接受高考成绩直接申请，且不提供预科课程。
墨尔本大学不接受高考成绩直接申请，可通过预科入读。
新南威尔士大学要求高考达到当地总分的80%，也可通过预科入读。
蒙纳士大学要求高考达到当地总分的70%且数学达到60%，也可通过文凭课程或者预科入读。
麦考瑞大学要求高考达到当地总分的78%，也可通过文凭课程或者预科入读。
科廷大学要求高考达到当地总分的67%。
邦德大学要求高考达到当地总分的75%。
关于硕士课程
澳国立大学：要求学士学位，拥有金融、会计、精算研究、商业、商业信息系统、经济学、工程、国际商务、管理学、市场营销、数学、物理、科学或统计等相关专业背景，本科学习过微积分和线性代数，择优录取，雅思6.5（6.0）
墨尔本大学：要求学士学位，拥有商科、数学、物理或工程等相关专业背景，本科学习过微积分和线性代数，MBS Tier 1均分80+，985/211均分85+，非211均分90+，雅思6.5（6.0），需提供个人陈述
新南威尔士大学：要求学士学位，拥有精算学、计量经济学、数学或统计学等相关专业背景，本科学习过数学相关科目，包括微积分和线性代数 985/211均分72+，非211均分88+（*除去总评分数外，专业课相关学科以及学科分数也会有一定要求），雅思7.0（6.0）
蒙纳士大学：要求学士学位，拥有科技、数学或科学相关专业背景，本科学习过统计学课程，学术加权平均分80 分以上（*学院将对所有申请人的完整学术背景进行评估和筛选），雅思6.5（6.0）
精算专业毕业后如何申请移民
精算专业提名职业是精算师Actuary（ANZSCO Code: 224111），其职业评估机构是Vetassess，属于Group A类的职业。完整职业评估的申请需要有本科或以上学历，并且主修精算研究（Actuarial Studies）、精算科学（Actuarial Science）或精算应用学（Actuarial Practice），毕业后近5年内有至少1年的精算工作经历。
