Academic entry qualification
First-year application:
If you will have completed your country’s pre-university education (equivalent to U.S. 12th Grade) before arriving on-campus for the fall semester, or if any of the following apply to you, you are eligible to apply to NYU as a first-year applicant:
• You are completing an internationally-recognized equivalent, such as the IB Diploma;
• You are applying from countries with school leaving qualifications based on the British educational model, and will have completed the A-level equivalent (neither O-levels nor (I)GCSE results will be sufficient for admission);
• You are currently enrolled in a foundation year program outside of the United States;
• Your highest degree earned by the time you plan to enroll at NYU is either a certificate or diploma.
Transfer application:
Transfer applicants must first meet the high school requirements above. You are then eligible to apply as a transfer student if one of the following applies to you:
• You are currently or have been enrolled as a degree-seeking* student at a college or university in the U.S. that is regionally accredited;
• You are currently or have been enrolled as a degree-seeking student at a college or university outside the U.S. that is nationally recognized by the country's primary accrediting council/agency;
• You are currently or have been enrolled in a non-degree seeking program in the U.S. and will have completed 24 semester credits or more by the time you plan to enroll at NYU.
Standardized Tests
100 and above on the TOEFL iBT, 7.5 and above on the IELTS Academic, 70 and above on the PTE Academic, or 191 and above on the Cambridge English Scale.
We accept results from either the old or new SAT, which became available in March 2016.
If you choose to submit three SAT subject tests or AP exam scores to fulfill the standardized testing requirement, we want to see one score from each of the following:
• Literature or humanities
• Math or science

Portfolio
In addition to your application to NYU, you should submit a two-part portfolio directly to the Department of Cinema Studies.
Part One -A five to ten page essay on a film, director, or any other film-related topic that you choose.
Part Two- A one-page statement that answers the following questions:
• Have you taken any cinema-related classes?
• What areas of cinema studies most interest you (film genres, directors, theory, etc.)?
• What are your career aspirations (film journalism/criticism, film curating, filmmaking, etc.)?

学术入学资格
在秋季入学前完成当地国家的大学之前的教育（相当于美国的12年级），并且满足以下任意一项：

• 目前或已被美国大学录取，并获得国家认证机构的认可；
• 现在或已经在美国注册了一个非学位课程，完成了24个学期或者更多学期的学分。
GPA：3.2以上
标准化成绩要求
托福100+， 雅思7.5+，SAT 1450+， ACT 30+。
SAT的成绩必须是2016年3月之后的成绩，且必须提供两个科目成绩：文学或人文科学，数学或科学。

作品集要求
第一部分 - 关于您选择的电影，导演或任何其他电影相关主题的五到十页的短文。
第二部分 - 一页一页的陈述，回答以下问题：

• 哪些电影学习最感兴趣的领域（电影类型，导演，理论等）？
• 你的职业抱负是什么（电影新闻/批评，电影策划，电影制作等）？
