Academic entry qualification overview
An honours degree (2.1 or above) or an equivalent overseas qualification. Applicants will be asked to submit a portfolio with their application, providing evidence of design practice at an appropriate standard. Most applicants are expected to have a design background but we will consider applicants from a range of disciplines relevant to product design (including disciplines such as industrial design and mechanical engineering). Applicants should demonstrate experience and competence in 3D CAD including solid and surface modelling. For those not able to provide a portfolio, it is important that the applicant's personal statement explains their interest in product design.
English language requirements
IELTS 6.5 overall with 6.0 in each individual element (reading, writing, listening and speaking).
